Hardware manufacturer AMD has launched a new type of system which makes it easier to buy new hardware. With this new system it is possible to see if your hardware is up to date and ready to use for modern games.
“We want to help people finding a pc that is really ready to play all the newest games” said AMD gaming specialist Brent Barry.
The new brand is named AMD Game! And only hardware that is up to a certain standard will receive this label. It is used in the United States since today, there is nothing known about a European launch.

Yesterday Electronic Arts shipped Crysis to stores in North America and Europe. Along with the game, the package also include the CryENGINE 2 Sandbox Editor, giving the community full access to one of the most powerful design tools in the industry.
Note that the game won't be for sale until this Friday, November 16. In the mean time don't forget to check out the demo, and if you have a Nvidia graphics card, download the latest beta drivers (specifically recommended for Crysis) here.
EA Games just released a new patch for Battlefield 2142, taking the game to version 1.40. Beside a short list of changes and fixes, they also include the final version of the tank-fest map called 'Highway Tampa'.

Good news for all people who liked the game F.E.A.R. and his first expansion pack Extraction Point, a new expansion Perseus Mandate is available (for now only XBOX360). A PC version will come available soon.
While Perseus Mandate will offer more of the same chills and thrills that we've come to expect from F.E.A.R., and the story line is perfected. The first two F.E.A.R. games basically had you chasing an elusive goal that made you feel as if all of your efforts were for naught, but Perseus Mandate will give us an ending. Of course, because you're not playing as the original F.E.A.R. hero, that ending could be grim. Perseus Mandate will ship later this year for the PC. It and the Extraction Point expansion will also be packaged together for the Xbox 360 in the F.E.A.R. Files package.
Today Activision has announced that the third part of the Soldier of Fortune series; Soldier of Fortune : Payback has gone gold.
The game will be released next week in the USA on XBOX360 and PC, and on November 20th on the Playstation 3. European gamers will have to wait for their release in the first quarter of 2008. Why the EU release is so much later is not known at this time.

It started out as a mod. Now it's here, a complete standalone game of the new Painkiller ! Who doesn't remember it, the old-school game Painkiller. After the game was released and turned out to be a massive success, People Can Fly had started to develop a mod for the game. The mod turned out to be such a total conversion with so many changes, new things so now they have made a complete stand-alone game out of it.
In the unreleased full-version of the game, players will have the chance to play 16 new maps, play with 6 new weapons and can slap new end-bosses around.
If you liked the old version of painkiller, this demo should be a must try !
The demo of Unreal Tournament 3 has been released yesterday, containing a multiplayer Unslaught map. Also new in UT3 is the tactical Warfare mode which is primarily based on the Assault mode. This demo is a heavy 740MB download and be sure to check the system specifications before installing.
